Terms

Role brief

A developer-friendly version of your job description. We prepare it for you to review and approve before a role goes live.

Candidate brief

A concise profile you receive when a developer opts in. Includes screening question answers, stack highlights, location, and signals.

Screening questions

Up to three custom questions attached to each role. Developers must answer them before they can opt in.

Smart Matching

The matching system that combines past (work history), present (daily.dev activity), and future (career goals) signals to surface the best candidates.

Developer opt-in

When a developer reviews your role and screening questions, and chooses to engage.

Double opt-in intro

An introduction only happens after both the developer opts in and you approve. This ensures mutual intent and reduces ghosting.

Candidate signals

Indicators based on developer engagement (skills, topics, goals) used to improve matching.

Onboarding

The setup process where our team opens your account, connects Slack or Teams, and helps launch your first role.

Success fee

A flat $5,000 fee paid only when you hire a candidate introduced via daily.dev Recruiter. Posting fees are deducted from this amount.
